Splinterlands Beta Collection: Hydra

Picsart_22-07-22_13-19-55-766.png

As I always report in my posts when there is a comparison of editions, of all my chosen ones are Alpha and Beta, but little by little you realize that the past editions are being left aside, saving here the "meta cards" which is not part of the summoners but which still has its benefit in higher compositions: Medusa, Water Elemental, Twisted Jester, Haunted Spirit, Frost Giant and in high level matches the Chromatic Dragon, so instead of returning the posts with cards of the moment that people are already familiar with due to the high repetition in battles I will only select cards from both editions.

If you still haven't been able to read my previous posts in order to test monsters rarely used in battles:

🔖 Fire Magicians: This time our magic fire composition was good

🔖 Backdoor at a distance, running away from the earth element magic pattern

The Hydra

Thanks to everyone who participates in the weekly art challenge promoted by the Splinterlands team, it gives me a wide choice for my posts regarding the monster in question, the art is authored by @sweetmonsters .

The tank-type Hydra monster can hold its own in small matches due to its Heal ability with its 6 health, 3 melee attack and 4 speed, making it prone to dodging of attacks, if you get a gold plated card you will have the addition of the Thorns skill that can make this monster more interesting, I will not mention the other skills because it is almost unlikely that someone will upgrade your card due to the price, I will explain in another post category.

As I mentioned the Beta cards are the same as the Alpha edition, however the Beta edition has some monster additions, Hydra is part of this rare group.
In addition to the benefit of being a neutral monster, it can be scaled in any situation that does not prohibit the use of this type.

But what the hell price is that?

You may not have seen Hydra in any battles until its mention in this post, but know that it is the highest priced Beta edition neutral monster to date, reaching its last sale price of exactly $78 USD while its last sale offer is $120 USD

Detail that in 3 months it reached the value of $190 dollars, if we go deeper into the subject its price at some point in 1 year reached exactly $700 dollars, this with the price that someone acquired it for that amount, a devaluation of almost -60% in total.
All this information can be found through the Splintercards

Possible combinations

With the focus of matches between 12~16 mana capacity available, more than that I'm pretty sure that this monster won't have time to breathe since from then on it's time for monsters designated for high amount of mana available, no I will talk about summoners because as he is neutral you must use according to the benefit of your taste or rules established in the game.

As I said at the beginning it is a self sustaining tank, but the best combination you can get for that amount of mana is another monster that gives you some support, all those selected at your starting level will either grant you armor or recover your life with the Heal Tank skill, I would recommend that you prefer the monsters with the healing skill, although if you are blessed to get the gold version seriously much better armor for better use of the Thorns.
